This can take several hours or up to a day depending on the brand of primer.Re-touch on the damaged area: Once you are sure about the damaged area then you can just focus on that space to retouch the paint. This would make sure to seal the painting of that area so that your cabinet paint would not peel again. This is not even that hard if you would follow some easy steps that are mentioned below: Scrape the damaged area:Semi-gloss paint Lint-free rag Drop cloth All-purpose cleaner #1 Step: Wash piece of furniture with All-purpose cleaner. Let a piece of furniture dry completely. #2 Step: Remove all glossy finish and make it dull and flat by using Medium grit sandpaper. #3 Step: Remove sanding dust with a vacuum and wipe it with water spray. #4 Step:Step 1: Remove loose paint. Use your putty knife to gently scrape away any loose paint. We also had old caulk lines to scrape away since we had removed quarter round trim as well. I can't stress enough that you want to gently remove loose paint. You don't want to create more work for yourself by being aggressive with this step.You just apply the wood filler to the places that need repair – I used a little rubber spatula made for caulk or wood filler. Let dry and then sand. For this spot that was broken off several layers deep,
